Privacy policy
What we collect, why we need it, who sees it, and how long it stays. Money records and proof screenshots are treated differently from each other, and this page says how.
Last updated 1 October 2026. This describes how FiniTasks handles personal data today.
What we collect
- Your name. The one that appears on your bank account. It is required at registration because a payout is checked against the name the bank returns.
- Your email address and phone number. Signing in, and reaching you about your own account.
- Bank details for payout. Bank, account number, and the account name the bank gives back when we resolve it. Held against your worker profile and copied onto a payout request when you make one, so that editing your profile later cannot change where money that is already in flight is going.
- Proof. The screenshots you upload and anything you type with them, such as the username you did a social task from, or the comment you wrote.
- Technical signals. The IP address you signed up from, the IP address and browser of each session, and a device fingerprint. This is the data that shows twelve accounts being run from one phone, which is the most common way this kind of platform is drained.
- How you found us. If you came from one of our ads, information about that visit.
- Your account record. Tasks claimed, submissions made, decisions and their reasons, appeals, and every ledger entry attached to you.
We do not collect your BVN, your card number, or any bank password. No task on FiniTasks will ever ask you for one. A campaign that does is removed, so report it.
Why we hold it
- To run your account and to pay you the money you have earned.
- To let a submission be checked against the task it claims to answer.
- To prevent fraud: duplicate accounts, recycled proof, automated claiming, and payouts directed at somebody else's bank account.
- To keep an audit trail behind money that has moved, so a question months later has an answer.
- To understand how the site is used and to measure how our advertising performs.
Who sees what
- The advertiser who funded a task sees the proof for that task and what was submitted with it, including the social username where the task asked for one, because checking that proof is what they paid for. They do not receive your email address, your phone number, or your bank details from us, and they do not get a list of workers.
- FiniTasks staff see what they need in order to decide an appeal, investigate a fraud signal, or answer a question about a payment.
- The payment provider that moves the money receives the details a bank transfer needs: bank, account number, account name, amount, and a reference.
- Advertising partners, such as Meta, receive limited information about how you use FiniTasks, such as signing up or topping up your wallet, to help us measure how our ads perform. Anything that identifies you, like your email address or phone number, is only ever sent scrambled (hashed). We never share your bank details, your balance or your proof.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not hand it to advertisers for marketing.
Proof screenshots, and when they are deleted
Proof images are the bulk of what we store, and we do not keep them forever.
An image is never eligible for deletion while its submission can still be decided or appealed. That is a property of the record itself rather than something a person has to remember, so evidence that is still in play cannot be cleared out from under a dispute.
Once a submission is finally settled, the image becomes eligible for deletion under the retention period, currently set to 7 days. What survives afterwards is the record of the submission: who submitted it, when, what was decided, the reason given, and a fingerprint of the image. The fingerprint is not a copy of the picture. It is what lets duplicate detection keep working against images that are long gone, and it is what lets us answer a dispute about a payment made last year.
Money records are kept
Every movement of money is a ledger entry, in kobo, and the ledger is append only. We do not edit or delete entries. A correction is written as a further entry that says what it corrects, because a payment history with a hole in it is not a payment history.
This is the part of your data we cannot delete on request, and it stays after an account is closed.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, keep the site secure, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used and measure how our advertising performs. Some of these are set by advertising and measurement partners, such as Meta and Google.
You can accept or decline the optional cookies when you first visit, and you can clear cookies in your browser at any time.
Asking for a copy, a correction, or a deletion
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct something that is wrong, or ask us to close your account and delete what we are not required to keep.
Some of it we will not delete, and it is better to say so here than to promise otherwise and then explain later: settled ledger entries, and the record that a specific submission existed and that money moved against it. Where we keep something after a deletion request, we will tell you what and why.
The support page lists the ways to reach us.
If something goes wrong with your data
If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you, and we will tell the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, within the time the Nigeria Data Protection Act sets for it.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or who we share it with changes, this page changes and the last updated date at the top moves with it.
